BevPak Nigeria Ltd.

African Capital Alliance (ACA) a private equity firm focused on investing in Nigeria and West Africa, has also  acquired a significant minority stake in BevPak Nigeria Ltd, a manufacturing company that specializes in the production of PET preforms (plastic tubes). PET preforms are used in the production of plastic bottles used by drink manufacturers.
BevPak Nigeria Limited was formed in 2008, when ACA partnered with experienced management to acquire the PET division of Frigoglass Nigeria Limited. The assets and intellectual property of the PET division of Frigoglass was the ideal platform for the management of BevPak to base its entry into the Nigerian market. BevPak allowed Frigoglass to divest from a business that was considered non-core.
BevPak Nigeria sees the opportunity to significantly increase capacity to take advantage of the growing demand for plastic bottles from the Nigerian bottlers.  The management also believes that significant opportunity exists in the West African region, and will look to tap this region as part of its growth strategy.
BevPak Nigeria Ltd marks ACA’s second investment in manufacturing in Nigeria. The investment was made through ACA’s Capital Alliance Private Equity II Fund (CAPE II), which was established in May 2005 to capitalize on investment opportunities throughout Nigeria and West Africa. The fund has invested in a range of sectors including financial services, telecommunications, and oil and gas.
